Why sweat it out? The Equal Hot Pilates experience 🔥

From April 4th Hot Pilates will be available in all Equal studios, both in Utrecht and Amsterdam. But why do Pilates in a heated room? What makes sweating through every move so addictive?

Hot Pilates takes everything you love about Pilates—core strength, controlled movement, and precision—and adds the element of heat (30°C) to intensify the experience. The result? A workout that not only sculpts your body but also detoxifies, clears your mind, boosts metabolism, and aids in faster recovery.

1. Detox & Sweat it out

Sweating is one of the body’s natural ways to cleanse itself. Practicing Pilates in a heated room encourages deep sweating, which helps flush out toxins and leaves your skin glowing. That post-class “clean” feeling? It’s real.

2. Mental clarity & focus

Hot Pilates isn’t just about movement - it’s about mental resilience. The heat challenges you to stay present, focus on your breath, and push past limits. It creates a deep sense of mental clarity and stress relief. By the time you step off your mat, you’ll feel lighter in both body and mind.

3. Deep core activation & strength

Pilates is all about core strength, and the heat takes it up a notch. The warmth activates muscles faster, helping you engage your deep stabilizers more effectively. This means stronger abs, better posture, and reduced risk of injury.

4. More mobility, less stiffness

Ever feel tight and stiff in the colder months? The heat in Hot Pilates helps increase flexibility and loosen up muscles, making movement feel more fluid. This means you can sink deeper into your stretches and move with ease, both in and out of class.

5. Faster recovery & less soreness

Studies on heat therapy show that heat exposure helps muscles recover faster, reducing post-workout stiffness and soreness. By incorporating heat into Pilates, we create an environment that allows you to train more consistently without feeling burnt out.

6. Metabolism boost & caloric expenditure

While heat alone won’t magically burn fat, research suggests it increases metabolic rate and caloric expenditure. The combination of high-intensity movement and heat in Hot Pilates can help support fat loss and improve overall body composition over time.

7. That post-class high

There’s nothing like the endorphin rush after a sweaty Hot Pilates session. The combination of movement, heat, and breathwork boosts your mood, reduces stress, and leaves you feeling unstoppable.
